Fr. Michael Brungardt is a Roman Catholic priest of the Diocese of Wichita. Ordained May 26, 2018 by the Most Reverend Carl A. Kemme, Fr. Michael is currently assigned as the Parochial Vicar of Saint Mary in Derby, KS.
Fr. Michael is the fifth of ten kids and grew up in Wichita, KS. He attended Benedictine College in Atchison, KS before beginning seminary at Conception Seminary College in Conception, MO. After graduating from Conception, Fr. Michael spent one year at Mount Saint Mary’s Seminary in Emmitsburg, MD before transferring to the University of Saint Mary of the Lake – Mundelein Seminary in Mundelein, IL. There, Fr. Michael earned a Baccalaureate in Sacred Theology (S.T.B.) and a Masters in Divinity (M.Div.).
Fr. Michael spent two years as the parochial vicar at St. Margaret Mary in Wichita, KS, before being sent to his current assignment as the parochial vicar of St. Mary in Derby, KS.
Fr. Michael’s article, “A Study of Accompaniment at the End of Life,” was published in the Winter 2017 publication of the National Catholic Bioethics Quarterly.
